Asking for Prayers and thoughts of Hope
Together we are stronger and so instead of a message from the angels, today I ask for prayers and thoughts of hope for the most successful outcome for my community. I live in the beautiful Cariboo country of British Columbia. We are currently besieged by forest fires all around us. Yesterday afternoon we had some lightening strikes and we have been in record setting high temperatures. I am currently safe and it appears the fire behind me last night is under control but my bags are packed and I am ready to go at a moment’s notice. Many of my neighbours have gone north already as they had places to go or livestock they wanted to move.
Here is a picture taken last night at the other end of the city from me.. this is a few kilometers away.
Out west in the Chilcotin, many of my friends have been evacuated and I have heard a big ranch was lost as well as Lee’s Corner (the historic home of the very first cattle drive). As have most of my friends South in the 150 Mile House, and I know there has been much loss there too.
My sister was supposed to evacuate from the 100 mile house area fire (Gustafson Lake Fire), which is huge – over 1500 hectors in less than 24 hours, last night but by the time they got to the road they couldn’t get out and there is nowhere to go so they had to go back home. I have not heard from her this morning so I ask for extra prayers of protection for her and her family.
And so I ask that you send some prayers to our firefighters and all those who need some support and strength during a challenging time and if you don’t hear from me for a few days you will know that I am safe, surrounded by angels and on the road with my pets and a few things
Thanks so much, Sharon
